Two Lives is a documentary
by Samina Mishra, a documentary film maker, writer, researcher
and sound recordist. She has an impressive body of work
with a definite focus on women and children. Samina shares
with us her 29 minute film Two Lives at the maxiMum
store on International Women's Day.
The 8th of March is also Donate
a Dress Day at maxiMum. We all have those wonderful outfits
– the dress, the trouser, the shirt, the churidar
which someone gave us or we bought and then never ever wore.
18 through 28 March | All day -
10:30 am to 7:30 pm
No one ever walked away from
a maxiMum Jewellery exhibition without a happy smile! And
once again, we dazzle! This time jewellery designers, Seema
Kapoor, Pushpita Singh, Aeisha, Anu Pasichia and others
bring together their diverse and exciting pieces –
there’s something special for every woman!
“All my abstracts reflect
my questioning, my yearning for something more, to reach
and merge with something beyond the self and become one
with it.” And yes, the seeker is present in the deep
colours of Nanda’s canvases, the light comes alive
in work that you look at it and look at again.
Justin Rabindra’s work
is reflective of Wanderlust, and “the kind of world
I wish for”. This is a travel photographer whose lens
makes you live through his travels, whose pieces are a vibrant
art.
Conversations with Life - a Forum for Young Adults
13 & 27 March, Saturdays | 2.30
pm to 4.00 pm
The forum meets again – a growing number of
young adults from different walks of life discussing issues
that matter the most - life and its complexities –
and being mentored through it by an able guide. If you are
18 or 29 or as young as you feel - just working your way
through thoughts and actions – let’s talk!
Club Mum meets in March to talk
about the current (and evergreen!) issues and joys of parenthood,
from exams to parties, from hugs to scolding, from values
to love and a gazillion other concerns and sharings.
A big dose of literary work at Jaipur
in January; and then we cancelled February (all of us seemed to
have a hundred other things on during the busiest season in the
city) though hopefully the muse kept us writing.
We women meet again to share our lives
and all that touches us – our souls, our families, economies,
politics, art, our fears, our passions. Come join this thinking
group that comes together every 6 weeks month to dip into Sarah
Ban Breathnach’s book and us!
