Vidya Iyer joins the Club Mum - the open group of parents / mothers - to share expert advice on teenager issues and how we deal at individual levels and lead to solutions in common. The 'You & Your Teenager' group will continue to meet periodically.
The discussions are intended towards understanding every parents' experience in dealing with their teenage/growing children. We want to see our kids happy, we want the best for them, they want lives for themselves that they are only just figuring out, and yes, the world is changing - and ever so often this leads to a conflict.
It is common to hear parents say," Can't manage this kid since he / she became a teenager". But these are the most beautiful and formative years of one's life. So let's discuss a few ways to deal with unreasonable teenage behavior and how to manage external pressures and inputs, their own evolving personalities and our dreams for them.
Vidya is a mother of two teenagers and divides her time between their needs and hers. She's been a consultant, a teacher and a trainer, and is now doing a doctoral programme - a long-cherished ambition.
Club Mum is a support group for mothers / parents. The forum is a wonderful opportunity for moms to converse, discuss and make the best use of their combined wisdom, and that of invited experts.
